Chapter One ~ Bloody Kiss ~

Oz Vermont's POV:

            The smell of Kira's terrible cooking woke me up. I jumped out of my bed and ran downstairs to see if what's happening on the kitchen. Whooa!! Kira just overcooked our viand. Ugh! I'll gonna go get some cup noddles at the store. Then Kira noticed me... Oh no!! "Oz!!" she called. Now I can't get some cup noddles. "Where are you going? Breakfast is done already. Come!!"
             I can't say no to my sister. She's very sensitive when it comes to her cooking. And if I say NO... I know she'll stuff the food  to my mouth down to my throat which I don't want to happen so I tried my best to eat that POISON!! I just put some seasonings mixed to it to make its bitter taste go away.
              "Oz, how is it?" she asked as I eat her food.
            I don't want to lie and to hurt her feelings so, "It's really good!! With some seasonings mixed on it!! But you still need practice!" I smiled. Then I changed the topic, "Where are Dad and Mom?"
             She was doing the dishes so she answered carefully since her hands are shaky ever since a child, "Mom is preparing the cafe open and Dad is posting some fliers at the street. You know that Mom and Dad need some workers at the cafe right? So he is posting some fliers."
               I stood up and left my unfinished breakfast. I opened the ref and grabbed some drink. "Kira, you'll be late for school. Double time or else, I'll leave you!" Then I went upstairs to my room to get ready.
               After taking a bath and wearing my uniform, I went to my study table to prepare my things. I put my notebooks and books to my bag not very neatly then I noticed a crucifix beside the lampshade. I got it and wore it. It was a memento of my bestfriend Alice a long time ago. I grabbed my bag and went downstairs.
                   "Kira!! I'm leaving now!" I shouted then Kira's loud footsteps were heard.
                   "Wait! I'm ready! Let's go!" she ran beside me then stopped. I looked at her and smiled. Her hair was a mess and so do her uniform!
                   "You are all in mess Kira," I said while trying not to laugh.
                   She, then pouted, "I don't care about that! What I cared about is I'm going to be late! Let's go and give me a ride!!"
                   Okay! So I gave her a ride to OUR school using my motorcycle. We just made it in time before the bell ring.

                    As our class goes on, I just dazed off thinking of nothing. It is just because it is Alice's Death Anniversary. I just can't get the fact that she's dead. Even though, it's been three years since her death. She just died too sudden. Well, I think that I should cut class this time. I'll gonna visit that long lost friend of mine.

                  After our first period, I skipped my class. I went to the Black Cemetery to visit her grave. The school and that cemetery are far from each other so I need to use my motorcycle.
               When I arrived, there goes that creepy feeling once again. I always feel that feeling everytime I walk inside that cemetery. I walk farther and farther carrying those fully bloomed red roses that I picked from my garden. I continued on walking until I saw a girl in my age standing in front of Alice's grave. She was wearing a red dress with matching red ribbons on her hair clipping those two-sided plaits on her hair. The same plaits that Alice have. I thought that she is Alice's sister so I went near her.
                 "Miss, are you Alice's relative?" I asked but she did not answer. I tried to pat her shoulder but suddenly, she just vanished. I became scared of what I saw but I didn't run, instead, I smiled and offered the flowers to Alice's grave and prayed for her soul.
                   "Oh my! What a nice key you have there, boy!~" a voice of a girl said. I turned around and saw her, she was wearing a red hood and a cape so I cannot see her face.
                   "Who are you?!" I took a step back.
                   "That doesn't matter at all now," then, from her hand, a black big scythe had appeared and chains that have sharp triangular-like weapon at its edge came out from her back, "Now that I need to get the Treasure before you can get its power!" then those chains attacked me.
                   What the ---- I dodge but still, it cut through me. My shoulder's been wounded deep by those chains! I can not live by facing this crazy---- whatever it is! I need to get out of this cemetery fast but how can I? I'm in the center of this cemetery! If I try to run, those chains will still get me but if I stay here.... I may be killed by that crazy girl. Oz! Think! Think, Oz!! You need to stay calm!
                   "What's the matter boy? You looked scared. Can I make you death fast?" then she ran towards me, ready to swing that scythe of hers. OH NO! I'm going to be dead! I closed my eyes and I felt something warm. I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was a blinding light. Wait, is this heaven? But that light vanished and I saw the terrible face of that girl. It was more like a demon feeling a great pain. Her scythe vanished and so do the chains on her back. I finally opened my eyes wide and saw that a cross-like white sword had stabbed her and that sword went through her. Black blood gushed out from her mouth and she became ashes. I fell on my knees and felt relieved that I was alive. Thanks to the white cross-like sword. I touched it and it lighten. It vanished and on my hand appeared the crucifix that Alice gave to me. Wait.... The sword is the crucifix??
                  "Thank you for destroying that shadow," another voice had said. I looked around and saw a girl sitting by the tree. She was the one that I saw earlier. She stood u and walked near me.
                  Terror had once again stopped my body from moving. This girl is more powerful than the other one! I gulped as she had already come near me.
                  "Terror huh?" she looked at me and our eyes had met. Wait.... Alice? I saw Alice's figure when I saw her face. Her eyes were the same with Alice, magical violet eyes but Alice's eyes expresses happiness and hers were sadness.
                   "Alice?!!" I exclaimed without noticing.
                    She turned her back at me by hearing that name, "You've mistaken me for a wrong person. And don't be scared of me, cause I'm not going to slaughter you."
                  I was surprised by the she talks. I'm expecting a feminine way of speech because of the way she dress. Somehow, the terror that I felt had vanished. I took all my courage to talk to her, "What do you want??" I said with great bravery.
                    I was surprised at the childlike thing that she did. She took a step forward, tipped her toe and turned to me with a grin in her mouth, "Simple," she said and the tone of her voice turned into a somewhat like a tone of a person who needs a favor, "I want you to become my guard," then she did the most crazy thing that a girl would do. She KISSED me!!! And I also felt the craziest thing that I could felt, I don't know what it is but.... I can't let go. I can't break free. It was like, I was binded by some chains. Then, I felt that she did something. She gave something to me that I could not resist to take in. After that, darkness fell....


                  The smell of Kira's terrible cooking woke me up. So... it was just a dream. Thank goodness. I jumped out of my bed and went downstairs to check what's happening. By the time I arrived at the kitchen, everything was set already.
                   "Oh!! Oz!! You are awake already! Are you fine now?" she asked.
                   I sat down on my seat and started to put some seasonings to Kira's overcooked food. "I'm always fine!" I answered happily. "'Why are you asking that silly question, Kira?" I asked while starting to eat my breakfast.
                   Her expression changed into confusion, "Well, have you forgotten already? Yesterday, you went to the cemetery right? SHE said that she saw you injured so she brought you home. She's really cool and kind! Before she brought you home, she already put some medicine on your shoulder and I'm glad that it doesn't hurt now. It is such a great medicine! She said that she made it!!! And a girl like her that is so feminine can make your motorcycle run at full speed!!" she said happily. My eyes widen at what she said.
                    So, it is not a dream.... All those things that happened are true. I stood up and held my shoulder, the pain is not there anymore and I think the wound also... "Kira, do you know who's that girl?" I asked.
                     Kira shook her head, "Nope, but she said that you'll know her soon."
                     I left my unfinished breakfast and went to my room. I got ready for school to erase those thoughts that are inside my mind  Those unwanted thoughts that I never wanted from the start. After wearing my uniform, I grabbed my bag that is already neatly placed at my study table. Before I could go, I noticed the crucifix that is tied to my bag. I looked at it closely and the plain white crucifix had now a red gem that is attached to it. As I look at it, I remembered that girl once again. I shook my head to forget that. I wore the crucifix and went downstairs.
